Janet started rehab work in 1984 - 8 years’ service as Raptor Biologist with Fish and Wildlife Service.
Kathy Kavanagh is Janet’s sub-permittee and has been in rehab work since 2005
Eleven birds (all but one were raptors) were handled in 2009
One Great-Horned Owl will act as surrogate parent
Two birds (Bald Eagle and Osprey) couldn’t be released and were placed
Five birds were transferred to Ironside Bird Rescue for further rehabbing and eventual release or
placement
Two birds died
One bird was released after wing healed
